Kiln Cast Glass

These cast glass sculptures crown my lifetime pursuit of color and light. In glass these qualities acheive intensity that is unatainable in painting. Bass relief sculptures are cast in plaster, color powdered glass is then painted on to the surface, and chunks of crystal glass are layed over the painted relief. They are kiln heated for up to two weeks before the plaster is carefully removed from the cast glass. This process reveals the exquisit beauty of the compositions suspended in a fairy tale like space within the crystal glass.
